Classically Trained Vocalist

Inspired by the visual and auditory art forms, Magdalena Bowen is an award-winning vocalist who also has an appreciation for American Sign Language. She is a third-year student at the Conservatory of Music, University of the Pacific (UOP) in Stockton, California, majoring in Vocal Performance and minoring in Studio Art. She currently studies under Dr. Heidi Moss Erickson and is an auditioned member of the esteemed Pacific Singers at UOP. Magdalena has appeared in numerous productions including Alcina, Camelot, Carousel, and is currently in Menotti’s, The Medium. She has competed and placed in various singing competitions including the National Association of Teachers of Singing and Sacramento Master Singers.

Magdalena is also recognized for her artistic talents and thoroughly enjoys her art studies at UOP. Her work has been shown at community art shows and at the Crocker Art Museum Junior Artists show in Sacramento. Magdalena’s goal is to continue working in the arts and motivate and guide other well-rounded artists.

The Deaf Community inspires Magdalena, and she also hopes to one day bridge her Sign Language skills with her musical abilities to bring the gift of music to those unable to experience it the same way as hearing people.
